Online Payment Procedure
The online payment facility is available to the existing customers of BRIT. Please read the instructions carefully before proceeding to make the payment.

Step 1 :
‘BRIT Link to State Bank Collect’ given below will take you to the disclaimer clause page of the ‘State Bank Collect payment portal’. Please select the ‘check box’ and click on ‘proceed’ on that page. This would take you to the BRIT payment webpage at SBI portal.
Step 2 :
Select the payment category as appropriate i.e. ‘Advance Payment’ or ‘Settlement against supply’
Step 3 :
Fill the relevant information regarding the payment, note that fields marked with * are mandatory. After completion of the details, enter the generated ‘captcha’ and click ‘submit’. This shall lead you to the Payment options.
Step 4 :
In the payment gateway select ‘Card Payment’ or ‘Net Banking’ or ‘Other Payment Modes’. The other payment mode is for generating a challan for cash / DD (SBI) / Cheque (SBI) payments at any of the State Bank of India’s branches.
The card/net banking payment modes will proceed in the usual way. The bank charges for each mode of payment are mentioned therein.

1. Why is there a need to irradiate blood ?
When blood is given to patients who are immuno-deficient such as cancer patients or patients being operated for organ transplants, blood needs to be irradiated with low dose of radiation to inhibit T- Lymphocyte proliferation.
Without this, these Lymphocytes may tend to take over the immune system of the recipient and attack the healthy organs resulting in T-GVHD or Transfusion induced graft versus host disease. This may lead to complications and may be fatal.
Even in the case of immuno-sufficient patients, this can take place, if the donor happens to be a close first degree relative due to the lymphocytes getting past the immune system of the recipient undetected like a Trojan horse. Treating of the blood with radiation is considered a sure way to prevent such complications.
2. What is the radiation dose given to blood in such cases ?
A radiation dose of 25 to 35 Gy is considered adequate.
3. What type of radiation is preferred ?
Gamma radiation is the preferred choice for this application.
4. Is it safe to irradiate blood using linear accelerators usually found in radiotherapy departments of hospitals ?
It is not advisable to do so because such equipment does not provide precise dose delivery of the type needed for the irradiation of blood, where accuracy and uniformity are of utmost importance.
Gamma based Blood Irradiators on the other-hand, are tailor made with these features and are capable of delivering uniform dose of the required measure. Giving more dose of radiation than necessary may result in the killing some of the useful component of blood.
