TANSCST Travel Grant to Young Scientist
The objective of this scheme is to encourage young and budding scientists and researchers to participate in National/International conferences and present their research findings.

This scheme will enable the scientist/researchers to update their knowledge and plan their research problems comparable with those which are in progress in other parts of the world.
Method of Selection
Under this scheme, Scientists and researchers below 40 years of age and working in Organisations (University/ College/ Research Centre) located within the State of Tamilnadu are provided with 50% of air fare or Rs.30,000/= ,which ever is less, to attend International Conferences and 100% train fare (First class/Second A/C) to attend National Conferences. About 10 Scientists are supported every year through this scheme
Terms & Conditions
Conditions governing travel-grant are :
** The other 50% air-fare is to be met by the University/ College/ Other Scientific Organization/ Government Departments. A certificate to this effect should be sent along with your application.
** The journey can be made by any Airlines including Air-India/Indian Airlines.
** The payment will be made after completion of the journey and the amount will be disbursed through the head of the Institution.
** The candidate should preferably have made two research publications in the referred journals/conference proceedings during the preceding 3 years from the date of application
Documents to be Enclosed
The following documents are to be enclosed along with the filled in application :
1. Paper acceptance letter (oral presentation)
2. Other 50% assurance letter
3. Airlines Quotation
4. Copy of the Abstract of the paper
5. Relevance of the paper in the Indian context
6. The benefits to be derived by Tamilnadu from your visit
IPFC for MSME
The primary objective of setting up of IP Facilitation Centre is to guide MSME and other target beneficiaries regarding utilization of IP tools and technologies for better management of their intellectual property related needs.
The specific objectives of the centre will be as under :
** To provide computerized facilities for searching/mapping, etc. with respect to patents, industrial designs, trade secrets, etc.
** To provide basic information to file an application for grant of patent, GI, industrial design, trademarks, etc.
** To provide information on best IPR practices.
** To provide guidance in filing applications with national/international agencies and execution of other documents concerning to licensing technology transfer agreements, etc.
** To advise beneficiaries on legal remedies available on issues such as infringement, duplication of patent/ industrial designs, etc.
Training and awareness :
** Conduct training and sensitization programmes for the industries/ clusters to create better understanding on various aspects and potential of IPR.
** Disseminate information on success stories of MSMEs with respect to IPR
The three clusters identified by IPFC for MSME for facilitating their IPR protection were as follows :
** Engineering & Electronics Cluster.
** Biotech & Pharma Cluster.
** Handloom and Handicrafts Cluster.
