Permanent Driving Licence :
How T o Obtain A Permanent Driving Licence :
Only a person holding a valid DRIVING LICENCE issued by a licensing authority is allowed t o drive a motor vehicle in any public place anywhere in India. Such person is entitled t o drive the vehicle belonging t o the particular class of vehicle which is mentioned in his/her driving licence. Procedure for issuance of Permanent Driving Licence is prescribed under Rule 14 of CMV Rules, 1989. The applicant shall apply for same on Form 4 t o the MLO.

Minimum Requirements Learner’S Licence :
** Applicant should be in possession of a valid learner’s licence for the particular class of vehicle for which he has sought the licence. FOR NON TRANSPORT(PRIVATE) VEHICLE
** The minimum age of the applicant should be 16 years in case of 50 cc motor cycle without gear and 18 years in case of motor cycle with gear or light motor vehicle.
** In case of applicant between 16 t o 18 years, the consent/declaration of the parents has t o be given before the licensing authority.
** In case of applicant above 50 years of age, applicant shall submit CMV Form-1 (with passport size phot o affixed) issued by a registered medical practitioner with validity for 1 year only.

For Transport(Commercial) Vehicle :
** The minimum age of the applicant should be 20 years in case of autorickshaw, taxi, goods vehicle, bus etc.
** The minimum educational qualification requirement is that the applicant should have cleared class 8 at school level.

Driving Experience :
** One year driving experience of Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) (Non-Transport) for issuance of LMV (Transport).
**One year driving experience of LMV (Transport) for issuance of HTV (Transport).

Documents Required :
Please bring the original and a photocopy of the same.
**Photographs Three recent passport size photographs.

Other Documents :
** In case learner’s licence is issued by same zonal office and there is n o change in personal particulars then n o other document is required.
** In case learner’s licence is issued by other zonal office or there is change in personal particulars then all the concerned documents (as mentioned for issuance of learner’s licence) are required.

Vehicle :
Vehicle from the class for which driving licence has been applied must be brought for the driving test alongwith the following documents :
** Valid Registration Certificate
** Valid Insurance Certificate
** Valid Pollution/Emission Test Certificate.

Fee Details :
Rs.200/ For smart card based driving licence Rs.50/ Driving Test fee for each class of category/ vehicle.
