Information/Instructions For The Candidate Desirous To Apply For J&K State Self Employment Programme. :
Eligibility :

Age :
18 – 40 for general categories with 5 years relaxation of women and for persons belonging to the categories of SC/STS/Ex-serviceman/Physically Handicapped.

Education Qualification :
8th Class passes( minimum)

Project Cost :
Rs. 2.00 lacs for retail trade and Rs. 3.00 lacs for other activities covered under Industries /Service etc.

Financing Pattern :
Bank Loan – 75%
** Promoter’s contribution 5 % of the Project Cost plus the amount of the total shortfall after deduction of the amount of subsidy.
** Subsidv- 5% of the Project cost subject to maximum of Rs. 7500/-
** 15% as Margin Money by way of Interest free loan to be recovered after the expiry of the term of the bank loan sanctioned in favour of the entrepreneur.
** Interest Subsidy

The Govt. shall also provide interest subsidy to the entrepreneurs for a period of two years on the following pattern :-
** During Ist 6 months 100%
** One year after 1st 6 months 75%
** Next 6 months 50%
** Total : 2 Years

Rate of Interest :
Normal rate of interest charged

By the Bank.
** Candidates may submit their applications in duplicate alongwith the relevant documents/certificates mentioned overleaf in the Distt. Employment Office, Srinagar personally by or before against proper receipt.
** The eligible candidate shall have to appear in the interview before selection committee and only after that they may be considered/selected under the scheme.
** Incomplete application/applications not enclosed with the requisite documents will be rejected.

** Identification Certificate as prescribed by the Deptt.(Original)
** Un-employment Certificate from a Gazetted Officer

What are the requirements for registering with Employment Exchange?
You have to produce all original certificates/testimonials which will be returned to you after registering your name at the same time.

What is the renewal period ?
It is three years with a grace period of one month.
Can we renew by post ?
Yes.

Can an illiterate register his/her name ?
Yes.
Is there any specific timing for registration ?
You can register your name during office hours on all working days.

What is the criteria for obtaining loan under State Self Employment Scheme?
A candidate must fulfil the following conditions :
** Must be at least Middle Pass
** Age: between 18-42 years. In case of female, SC/ST/PH 18-47
** Unemployed
** Permanent resident of the State/or residing at a particular place for atleast 3 years.
** Should not have already availed loan facility under any Govt.sponsored scheme.

How to apply for loan under Self Employment Scheme(SES) ?
Advertisements are being floated in print and electronic meadia and you have to apply against those advertisements.

What are the incentives available under the Scheme ?
15% Margin Money, 5% Capital Subsidy and Interest Subsidy for 2 years.
