Online payment of Electricity bills :
Consumers can now pay their Electricity bills online at their convenience from their home or office. Kerala State Electricity Board Limited introduced online payment of electricity bills for its consumers on June 2011. The online payment facility was initially made available for the HT-EHT consumers through the web portal, ht.kseb.in/. This was later extended to the Low Tension consumers of KSEB. By April 2013, this facility was made available for all the consumers of KSEB. Online payment of KSEB bills can be performed through the LT web portal of KSEB viz., wss.kseb.in. Anyone having a valid internet banking account (in the list of 38 banks given in the KSEB web portal) or with a valid Visa/Master/Maestro credit card or a Debit card can pay an electricity bill online.
KSEB has also established direct integration with some banks to offer better online payment facilities to the customers of the banks. At present the account holders of these banks can pay their electricity bills online through this set up without incurring any service charges. KSEB Ltd. has a 24×7 Customer care helpdesk to answer the online payment related queries of the customers.

The State Government by their notification EL3-9345 dated 21-2-1958 constituted the State Electricity Consultative Council under section 16 of the Electricity Supply Act. The Council functions as consultative body and the Board is required to place before the council the annual financial statement and supplementary statements if any before submitting such statements to the State Government.

How can I apply for a new service connection?
New service connection application shall be made in prescribed Service Connection Application Form; the same application form can be used for obtaining permanent / temporary service connection or for re-effecting a dismantled service.

From where can I obtain service connection application form?
Service connection application form in English and Malayalam are available at a cost of Rs 10/- at Electrical Section, Division and Circle offices.
Can I use application forms downloaded from Internet?
No; for uniformity and for ensuring quality of the stationery it is insisted that application for service connection shall be made on the form purchased from KSEB offices. However the format of application is made available for information at web site
Is it compulsory that I should be the owner of the building / premise for obtaining a service connection in my name?
No, tenant / occupier of a premise also can avail service connections. In case the applicant is not the owner of the premise, security deposit at twice the normal rate has to be remitted.
Functions of KSEB
The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is a public sector undertaking under the Government of Kerala that generates, transmits and distributes electricity in the state under government monopoly. Established in 1957, the agency comes under the authority of the Department of Power. It has been registered under Indian companies act during January 2011.
