What are Pension Cases?

Pension :
This office is responsible for Authorization/Finalization of Pension cases in respect of State Government Employees within its jurisdiction.

Cases of Government Servants retiring from All India Services like Indian Administrative Services, Indian Police Service, Indian Forest Service etc., MLAs, MLCs and employees of non Government Schools and Colleges are also authorised.

There are three different kinds of pension cases dealt here :
Retirement cases : Includes Superannuation, Voluntary retirement, Invalid, Compulsory retirement pension cases etc. of all departments.

Family Pension cases : Includes Family pension cases of the Government servants while in service
Revision cases : Includes all types of revision cases i.e. Post and Pre 96 retirees.

In case, a pensioner opts to receive his pension from any Treasury which is outside the jurisdiction of this office a Special Seal Authority is issued to the respective Pr. AG who in turn issues the final authority on the treasury (under his/her jurisdiction) opted by the pensioner.

The office has constantly endeavoured to authorise correct and timely pensionary benefits for which the following measures have been taken

** The entire process of Pension finalization has been automated. The System Automation Initiative (SAI) has resulted in faster and transparent disposal of pension cases.

About Us:

The Office of the Accountant General, Mumbai (AGMAHA Maharashtra) was established on 1st May 1858 at the Old CGO Complex, New Marine Lines, Churchgate, Mumbai. Over more than 125 years, the auditing and accounting responsibilities of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India in relation to the State of Maharashtra expanded manifold and as of today the same are being managed by the following six offices of the Indian Audit & Accounts Department, each headed by a separate Accountant General/ Principal Accountant General.

1. I am an Associate Professor retired on the date 28.02.2022. My pension proposal is submitted on the date 30.06.2022 through the Joint Director (H.E.), Kolhapur. My humble request is to look in my matter for early sanction of proposal.

2. I have applied for voluntary Retirement and retired from office on 31/07/2021. My pension case was forwarded on 22/09/2021. AG office found query and letter was posted to clarify on 002/11/2021. My pension case was referred as 2122122991. The same was clarified by my School on 16/11/2021. Your honour is therefore requested to do the needful. Thank You.

3. My mom is getting family pension since 2006 from AG office Nagpur. Now she has major heard problem and hospitalized and getting treatment with angioplasty. Let me know, if there is some financial assistant or any reimbursement for hospitalization through her family pension scheme.
