Addition of Class of Vehicle :

A person holding a driving license for Motor Cycle may similarly apply for addition of a light motor vehicle at any time.

A person holding a driving license for Light Motor Vehicle may however, apply for addition of the class of Medium Motor Vehicle or Heavy Motor Vehicle only after he has held the license for light motor vehicle for a period of one year. In such cases the applicant should undergo the course of training in driving and produce a Certificate in form No.5 issued by a Driving School or establishment.

Driving License :
A valid Driving License, issued under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, is an essential document to drive a motor vehicle in any public place in India. In the State of Kerala driving licenses are being issued by the Motor Vehicles Department through its 17 Regional and 47 Sub Regional Transport Offices. One should have proper authorization in the license to drive specific class/classes of vehicle he intends to drive.**

Instructions :
A Licence holder can submit applications on-line to any of the RT/Sub RT offices

Steps :
**Select the Office Name for which the application is to be filed
**Enter the Licence Number in the given boxes correctly
**Select the date of birth or enter in the format ‘dd/mm/yyyy’
**Click on the ‘GO’ Button
**Your License details will be displayed
**** ** If any serious mistakes other than spelling mistakes is found or your Licence details is not displayed you should contact the concerned RT/Sub RT Office immediately for correction.
**Click Next Button
**Fill up additional requirements if any asked by the computer and click apply
**You will** get an application Number and can take printout of full set of applications
**Submit the printed forms with fee/epay receipt at concerned RT/Sub RT Office** along with Driving License in orginal and with attested copies for proving Address and Date Of Birth
