Pension Scheme
Old Age Pension:
To provide support to the elderly above 60 years of age, who are living below the poverty line, and help them to live respectfully.
Widow Pension:
To provide financial assistance to destitute widows aged 18 to 60 years who live below the poverty line and support them to live honorably.
Divyang Pension:
To provide 40 percent or more direct handicapped, mentally retarded or hearing impaired women / men help to live respectfully
Eligibility
Old Age Pension:
Age: Minimum 60, Maximum 150
Income : For Rural Area Rs. 46080 and for Urban Area Rs. 56460
Pension: Not eligible if applicant is benefited from other pension schemes
Monthly grant: Rs. 500
Widow Pension Scheme:
Age : From minimum 18 till joining other welfare scheme
Income : Rs. 2.00 Lakh
Pension: Not eligible if the applicant is benefited from other pension schemes
Monthly Grant : Rs. 500
Divyang and Leprosy Pension Scheme :
Age : Minimum 18, Maximum 150 Minimum 1 , Maximum 150
Income: For Rural Area Rs. 46080 And For Urban Area Rs. 56460 For Rural Area Rs. 46080 and For Urban Area Rs. 56460
Disability / Leprosy Percentage: Minimum 40 , Maximum 100 Minimum 1 , Maximum 100

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a person have both Widow Pension and Old Age Pension?
Yes, one can enrol in both Old Age Pension and Widow Pension at a time. However, the age eligibility criteria for Widow is between 18-65 years of age whereas for Old Age an individual must be above 60 years of age.
Are taxpayers eligible for Pension Yojana?
The tax benefits include the additional deduction of Rs 50,000 under section 80CCD(1) introduced in last year’s Budget. Those with taxable income are also not eligible.
Who is not eligible for Pension Yojana?
Since Pension Yojana is meant for unorganized industry workers like gardeners, drivers, maids, etc, so, users under these occupations, above 18 years of age, need to contribute Rs 42 – Rs 210 per month.
