Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance Scheme :
The Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance Scheme has been activated vide Government order No. APCMUHIS-01/2014 dated 16 September 2014. Informing this official of the director of health services said possession of biometric embedded smart card is prerequisite to avail the benefit of this scheme.
The enrolment of beneficiaries was started on 1 July 201 and distribution of smartcard is almost complete in all the districts. Altogether 1, 61, 000 families have been enrolled till date. The main objective of the scheme is to provide free Medical and Surgical treatment (except Outdoor Patients facility) in Government and private hospitals in cashless manner using the smartcard. Patients admitted in any empanelled hospitals can avail medical and surgical procedures, the cost of which will be deducted based on package rates agreed upon by the hospitals. All Government hospitals in the state will be implementing the scheme including some of the private hospitals outside of the state.
District Medical Officers have been designated as Nodal Officers of the respective district for this scheme. Chief Medical Superintendent of Arunachal State Hospital, Naharlagun and Joint Director Health Services (T&R), Pasighat are also implementing agencies in addition to all DMOs.
