What is Mobile based Citizen Grievance System?
A mobile based Grievance Redressal System has been developed and launched by this Ministry to enable citizens to lodge their grievances regarding Swachh Bharat Mission and Rural Water Supply.
For Swachh Bharat Mission, citizens can lodg e their grievances using their mobile phones, by typing SBM<space>G<space><Postal Pin Code><space><Type the Grievance with your name and village> and send it to 7738299899. Simirally for Rural Drinking Water Supply grievance, one can type Water<space>G<space><Postal Pin Code><space><Type the Grievance with your name and village> and send it to 7738299899.
Alternatively, citizens can register on https://jalshakti-ddws.gov.in/ >> PUBLIC GRIEVANCE and send the grievance through an online form available on the website. Through this facility, one will also get SMS updates on Water Supply related plans and investments.
The grievances would be automatically routed to the concerned District SBM Co-coordinator or the District Executive Engineer i /c Rural Water Supply, as the case may be. Action taken against each gr i evance i s recorded by the system and displayed on the linkmentioned above, as well as sent to Citizen’s mobile number.
About DDWS:
The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation provides technical and financial assistance to the States to provide safe and adequate drinking water to rural India with focus on service delivery. The Department’s Centrally Sponsored Scheme, the National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP),was restructured and subsumed into Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) to provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to every rural household i.e., Har Ghar Jal, by 2024.
The kinds of works/ schemes which are proposed to be taken up under JJM include In-village water supply (PWS) infrastructure for tap water connection to every household; reliable drinking water source development/ augmentation of existing sources; transfer of water (multi-village scheme; where quantity & quality issues are there in the local water sources); technological intervention for treatment to make water potable (where water quality is an issue, but quantity is sufficient); retrofitting of completed and ongoing piped water supply schemes to provide FHTC and raise the service level; grey water management and capacity building of various stakeholders and support activities to facilitate the implementation.
