Procedure To Get GMADA Water Connection

** Application form
** Self attested copy of the sanction letter of building plans.
** Self attested copy of the allotment letter and GPA, if applicable.
** Demand Draft towards road cutting charges, if any.
** Certificate from a plumber registered with the Authority.

Time limit of GMADA Water Connection

05 working days from the date of receipt of application.

It would be preferred to print on A4 sheet.

Obtain Water Connection :
** Since two departments namely GMADA and Department of Water Supply and Sanitation Pb. are involved in operation maintenance and upkeep of Public Health Services in different sectors in Mohali, the water connection for construction at any particular site is sanctioned by the respective Department after the building plans are approved by GMADA.
** The application forms for water supply connection are available in the respective department for the areas under their jurisdiction. Tapping Ferrule on the street water supply line for making house water connection without getting the water connection sanctioned from the competent authority, is illegal which will attract penalty and other suitable action.
** After obtaining occupation certificate from Estate Office, GMADA and Sewerage connection from the competent authority of GMADA, the allottee is required to intimate the concerned office/ department about the date of sanction of sewerage connection/ occupation, make, reading and Sr. No. of water meter installed at its premises so that water bill may be issued on the basis of meter reading, thereafter.

Check List For Water Supply Connection
i) Application Form
ii) Self attested copy of the sanction letter of building plans with its reference in the respective column of application form.
iii) Self attested copy of the Allotment letter and GPA, if applicable.
iv) Demand Draft towards road cutting charges, if any, as per the following norms. Road Category Water Supply Sewerage Up to 40 feet wide road Rs. 4500/- Rs. 9000/- 60 feet wide road Rs. 9500/- Rs. 19000/- 80 feet wide road Rs. 12500/- Rs. 25000/-
v) Certificate from a plumber registered with the Authority in the prescribed form. List of such plumbers is placed at page 9.

Note :
1) Before releasing the water connection, It should be ensure that the owner has constructed duly covered water meter chamber at site of work.
2) In case the underground water tank (constructed for construction purpose) is not properly filled up, the water connection will be disconnected.
3) The owner will be responsible for installing water meter and other allied fittings at his own cost. In case of any fault, these will be replaced by the owner himself and GMADA will not be responsible for any repair and replacement.
4) In case of faulty water meter, the water bill will be sent on flat rates basis. In case after two consecutive water bills, the water meter is not got rectified, the water connection will be disconnected and it will be reconnected after getting the reconnection charges deposited. If the water connection is disconnected for any reason, Rs. 500/- will be charged as Disconnection Charges and in case reconnection is allowed by the competent authority Rs. 500/- will be charged as Reconnection Charges.
5) The allottee will be required to get the water connection regularized within 15 days after completion of work and sanction of sewerage connection.
