What is UDISE+?

Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) is one of the largest Management Information Systems initiated by Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, GoI covering more than 14.89 lacs of schools, 95 lacs of teachers and 26.5 crores of children. The entire system is online and has been collecting data in real-time since 2018-19. UDISE+ has a mandate of collecting information from all recognized schools imparting formal education from Pre-primary to class XII.

What is a UDISE code?
UDISE code is an 11-digit code that acts as a unique identification number based on the geographical location of a school.

How to get UDISE code?
** Every school in the country will be given a unique UDISE code. If a new school is established, the school needs to get a UDISE code for establishing the unique identity in the UDISE+ records. School should undertake the following steps:
** The school user should approach district MIS officer with requisite documentation especially recognition letter of the school. This is applicable for both recognized and unrecognized schools.
** District MIS user will apply for UDISE code through the “School Directory Management” in the UDISE+ system and the request would flow to the state MIS user for approval.
** State MIS user will verify the application and request for any clarification to district level. State level user is the sole authority for approval of UDISE code generation for the school.
** Once verification gets completed at state MIS level, the application is sent to Ministry of Education for UDISE code generation.
** The UDISE code generation process takes approx. a week to get completed

What is the procedure to change UDISE code?
UDISE code is permanent in nature and once assigned to a specific school, it can’t be changed.

How can a user retrieve a forgotten password?
If the user knows their registered mobile number and has access to it, then password can be reset by clicking on the ‘Forgot Password’ button at the time of login. After filling the User-ID and mobile number, new password is send to the mobile number and email.

From where can I get the Contact details of the District/Block MIS?
The user needs to visit the District/Block MIS section available on the UDISE+ website. He/She needs to fill the State, District, Block, Udise Code to get the District/Block contact details.

How can I view/update location information for the critical indicators section?
For Viewing location info, the user needs to log in at the School Management Portal (School Directory Management) and then access the ‘Data in Spreadsheets’ option available on the dashboard, from which he/she can download the School Master/Location Master/Cluster list.

For updating any location-related information like assembly, cluster, etc, the user needs to go to the ‘School Management’ page after which he can edit the location under the ‘Update Location’ and ‘Update Cluster & Geo Location’ of any Operational School.

Can we merge teacher when merging one school to another?
** Yes, this functionality is available in the system. Follow the below given steps to merge teacher data of two schools:
** In the School Management Portal/School Directory Management, opt for merging teacher data while updating School Details.
** Access the data entry portal with block MIS/block entry user credentials and go to sync school master functionality.
** Search for the school whose status has been changed to merged and click on ‘close DCF’ against that school
** Final step is to go to section 3.3 of the dashboard of the school into which user has merged the first school and click on ‘import teacher’ button
** Decision to accept the merge request rests with the school into which data is getting merged.
