What is Record of Rights (RoR)?
A Record of Rights (RoR) is a crucial land document in India that serves as a comprehensive record of ownership, rights, and liabilities associated with a specific land parcel. It’s essentially a single document containing all the vital details about a piece of land, simplifying land-related transactions and disputes. Think of it as a land’s identity card, providing an overview of its legal status and ownership history.
Here’s what you can typically find in an RoR:
** Landowner’s details: Name, address, and type of ownership (individual, joint, etc.)
** Land description: Location, survey number, area, type of land (agricultural, residential, etc.)
** Encumbrances: Any mortgages, leases, or other claims on the land
** Rights and liabilities: Details of the owner’s rights (e.g., cultivation rights) and any liabilities like land revenue payable to the government
** Transaction history: Record of past ownership changes and mutations
Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
** The Bhunaksha portal is available in both English and Konkani.
** You can download a copy of your land record information from the Bhunaksha portal.
** There is a fee for obtaining a certified copy of your land record information.
** The process for viewing your land record information may vary slightly depending on your location.
