Q1. Who can lodge a complaint in the portal?
Any individual or an authorized person on behalf of any organization, association, committee, union, society etc.

Q2. Against whom a complaint can be lodged?
The complaint can be lodged against the organizations and the officials covered under the jurisdiction of Central Vigilance Commission. Details of the same are given in the Comprehensive Complaint Handling Policy document, which is available in downloadable form on the home page of the portal. The allegation(s) should contain information about acts of corruption or should have a vigilance angle.

Q3. How can I lodge a complaint in the portal?
A complaint can be lodged through the ‘Citizen Login’ tile in the portal home page. Clicking on this tile will take you to the citizen login page wherein:
** First-time users should register themselves using the ‘Register new user’ facility available here to lodge complaint in the portal.
** Existing users may login using their User ID & Password and lodge complaint in the portal.
** Login credentials of old portal will not work in the new portal.

Q4. How can I view the status of my previous lodged complaints?
The status of a complaint lodged previously in this portal can be viewed:
** By logging into the portal through the ‘Citizen Login’ tile in the portal home page wherein the previous lodged complaints along with its status will be displayed in a tabular format.
** Through the ‘Know your complaint status’ tile in the portal home page wherein the status can be viewed using the Complaint Number of the previous complaint.

Q5. Can I change my personal details submitted during user registration?
Yes. The following personal details can be changed anytime by logging into the portal:
** Mobile Number
** Address

Q6. I have forgotten my User ID in the portal. Can I retrieve it?
Yes. User ID can be retrieved by using the ‘Forgot Login ID’ link available in the citizen login page. Clicking on the ‘Citizen Login’ tile in the portal home page will take you to the citizen login page.

Q7. I have forgotten my password. How can I reset it?
Password can be reset using the ‘Forgot Password’ link available in the citizen login page. Clicking on the ‘Citizen Login’ tile in the portal home page will take you to the citizen login page.

Q8. I have sent a complaint by post to the CVC. Can I check the status of this complaint online?
Yes. The Complaint Number of such complaints will be conveyed to the complainant by the CVC by post. By using this Complaint Number, the status can be viewed through the ‘Know your Complaint Status’ tile in the portal home page.

Q9. Can I lodge a whistleblower complaint in the portal?
No. Lodging of whistleblower complaints (also known as PIDPI complaints) with the CVC can ONLY be done by post. For more details, click here.

Q10. I have lodged a whistleblower (PIDPI) complaint with the CVC. Can I check the status of this complaint online?
Yes. The Complaint Number of such complaints will be conveyed to the complainant by the CVC by post. By using this Complaint Number, the status can be viewed through the ‘Know your Complaint Status’ tile in the portal home page.

CVC Complaint Handling Policy

The Central Vigilance Commission is mandated under the CVC Act, 2003, to enquire or cause an enquiry into complaints against public servants wherein allegations of corruption are involved. The Commission can cause an enquiry through the Chief Vigilance Officer of the organisation concerned or CBI or any other anti-corruption investigating agency under the Government of India.

Lodging of Complaints:
Complaints can be lodged by addressing the written communication/letter directly to the Commission or on Commission’s portal https://portal.cvc.gov.in or through the Commission’s website https://cvc.gov.in under the link “Lodge Complaint” on home page. Complaints sent through written communication/letter should contain complete postal address (mobile/telephone number, if any) of the sender with specific details/information of the matter. Complaints sent on any e-mail ID of officers of the Commission will not be entertained or taken cognizance of by the Commission
