Registration of Motor Vehicles :

(a) How to apply:-
Application for Registration of Motor Vehicles shall be made in form 20 to the Registering Authority within a period of 7 days from the date of taking delivery of each vehicle excluding the period of journey and shall be accompanied by

(i) Sale Certificate in form 21
(ii) Valid Insurance Certificate
(iii) Proof of address
(iv) Temporary Registration if any
(v) Road worthiness certificate in form 22 from the manufacturers
(vi) Appropriate fee as specified in Rule 81
(vii) In respect of vehicles temporarily registered, they should be registered before the expiry of temporary registration validity.

On receipt of application for registration of Motor Vehicle kit will be scrutinized there itself and the Motor vehicle will be inspected then and there. If the vehicle is in accordance with the rules the registration number will be allotted on the spot.

The registration of the vehicle will be attended in all the working days and the registration number for the vehicles will be allotted as soon as the registration formalities are over.

b) How to get R.C. Book:-
The certificate of the registration will be issued soon after the allotted number is exhibited on the vehicle and shown to the registering authority.

c) When to apply:-
The registration of the vehicles has to be done before the expiry of temporary registration.

d) How much time is needed:-
The registration of the vehicle and issue of the R.C. books of the vehicles after observing all formalities will be done within 10 days.

Renewal of Registration of Motor Vehicle:
a) How to apply:
Renewal of Registration of the Motor Vehicle will be done only on receipt of the following documents.
i) Application form in form 25
ii) Insurance certificate
iii) Fitness certificate from authorized workshop
iv) Appropriate fee as per rule

b) How to get R.C. book after renewal:-
On receipt of the application and other documents along with the vehicle the RTO/MVI will inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is in good condition and road worthy the registration of the vehicle will be renewed and necessary entries will also be made in the R.C. book.

c) When to apply:-
The owners of the vehicle has to apply for the renewal of registration of Motor vehicle to the registering authority in whose jurisdiction the vehicle is kept before the date of expiry of registration.

d) How much time is needed:-
After completing all the formalities necessary entries will be made in the RC book by the registering authority and the RC book will be issued within seven days.
