Education Loan Scheme :
Haryana Women Development Corporation has decided to implement Education Loan Scheme for female students w.e.f Ist April 2007 with a view to encourage women/ girls belong to Haryana State to pursue higher education at Graduate/ Post Graduate/ Doctoral / Post Doctoral level in the country and abroad.

Due to higher fee of the private institutions and rate of interest of banks parents / Guardians often can** t afford to send their daughters / dependent females to pursue higher education. Corporation is providing interest subsidy to the tune of 5% per annum to the banks, thus reducing interest burden on the student/ guardian.
Eligibility:
** All Haryana domicile girls including children of Haryana Govt. employees are eligible under the Scheme.
** Students can pursue higher education professional/ technical diploma/ graduate, post graduate, doctoral / post doctoral level in country and abroad also.
** No pre condition of income / caste/ religion etc.
** Scheme is applicable for studies in India and abroad.
Mode of Application:
** The Loan Application form duly filled in, may be submitted alongwith all testimonials and certified copies of certificates etc. as mentioned in the application form to the concerned bank and a photocopy of the same may be submitted to the District Manager of the concerned district of this Corporation. The District Manager will process and raise demand to Head Office.
** Applicants can apply to any bank offering educational loan to girls for higher education provided the girl is Haryana domicile or ward of Haryana Government employee. Government of Haryana will contribute 5% of the interest on the total loan. –
** After appraisal and sanction, the bank must forward a copy of the sanctioned letter to the local District Manager of Women Development Corporation.
** District Manager would also intimate the Head office of the actual demand and its schedule, so that funds can be provided well in time.
** All female students must be encouraged to apply to the banks and applicants of female students must be processed on priority basis. All loans sanctioned on or after 1.4.2007 would be eligible under the Scheme.
** Banks while lodging the interest subsidy claim, would attach the following documents:-
** Copy of application form for the education loan. Copy of loan sanction letter.
** If loan has already been disbursed then date and amount of disbursement. On every subsequent disbursement, a copy will be sent to the Corporation informing date and amount of each disbursement.
** At the close of each financial year, a copy of statement of loan account will be sent to the Corporation informing details of levy of interest from time to time.
Achievements:-
During the year 2007-2008 under the Education Loan Scheme 803 cases have been sanctioned by the different banks. 808 cases have been sanctioned by different banks during the year 2008-09. 936 cases have been sanctioned by different banks upto January,2010.
I have taken education loan in October 2016. The bank from where I have taken loan is confusing as whether to lodge claim till 31.03.2017 (2016-17) or till date i.e. December 2017 (2017-18). Please clarify.
