Financial Assistance of Rs. 5000/- will be sanctioned to Scheduled Caste unemployed Law Graduates to enable them to register their names in the Bar Council and for purchase of Law Books, furniture etc in order to facilitate to start practice of Law.
Scheme :
Financial Assistance is given to Scheduled Caste Law Graduates. This scheme is implemented out of State Government funds.
Description :
Financial Assistance is sanctioned to Scheduled Caste Law Graduates to register their names in the Bar Council, purchase of Law Books , furniture in order to facilitate them start Law practice. This assistance of Rs. 5000/- is given only once. The eligible candidates shall make an application in the prescribed proforma along with relevant documents to the concerned Taluk Social Welfare Officer
Eligibility :
** Candidate should have passed the Bachelor of Law Examination.
** Should belong to Scheduled Caste.
** Annual Income should be within Rs. 18,000/-
Documents Required :
** Caste Certificate in prescribed proforma issued by competent authority
** Residential certificate issued by competent authority
** Income certificate
** Law Graduation certificate.

Pre-Examination Training Centre (PETC) :
The Pre-examination Training Centre, which is housed within the premises of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Bhavan, on Millers Road Bangalore which is a part of the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Karnataka, is imparting quality coaching to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes candidates for competitive examinations conducted by the UPSC/KPSC and other Government authorities which are called from time to time.
The PETCBangalore is the only Centre in the state that coaches’ low income group SC/ST candidates for various competitive exams called from time to time.
In addition to Civil Service exams conducted by the UPSC/KPSC, in the past few years coaching has been imparted for various competitive exams like F.D.A/Civil Services/S.S.C Combined Graduate level exams/ Police Constable Examination/K.E.S/Civil Judge Entrance/ Gram Panchayath Grade I & II/PDO etc.

Keeping in view, the Constitutional mandate, The Government of Karnataka, through Social Welfare Department, formulated various programmes and schemes for the upliftment of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (hereafter mentioned as SC & ST) especially for their socio-economic and educational advancement from the year 1956 onwards.
