Self Help Group State Level Report :

Recognising that Persons with disabilities are among the poorest and most vulnerable of the poor the SERP has initiated Disability interventions as a seperate Inclusive Development for Persons with Disability Unit in all the mandals of state are covered.

198207 PwD’s are organised in to 20368 exclusive PwD SHGs by forming 436 MVSs and 9 Zilla Vikalangula Samakhyas in Telangana State with an Objective that the to evolve a model of institutional relationship between Community Based Organizations (CBOs) of Persons with Disabilities and various government and Non-government stakeholders and make them as resource mandals to support the persons with disability (PwDs) by building their capacities to improve life skills and self esteem.

Progress So Far :
Intensive activities are being carried out in 443 mandals,198207 PwD’s are organised in to 20368 exclusive PwD SHGs and also formed 436 formed MVSs and 9 Zilla Vikalangula Samakhyas in Telangana State, PwD’s are given an assistance of Rs.18.32 crores through CIF, Bank linkage, Sthree Nidhi and Revolving Fund for enhancing their Livelihood, Provision of Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation services were made through community managed interventions through 56 neighbourhood centres (NHCs), 3,488 Surgical Corrections were carried out and 10,838 PwD’s were issued assistive devices on free of cost in the programme mandals, Under Janasree Bheema Yohana (JBY) insurance scheme 23,604 PwD’s are covered in the current financial year, Through Software for Assessment of Disability for Access, Rehabilitation and Empowerment (SADAREM) so far 6,21,984 PwD’s are assessed and found eligible (>40%) 4,70,38 PwD’s

Mission :
SERP has adopting a participatory development approach to support the persons with disability (PwDs) by building their capacities to improve life skills and self esteem, SERP has extending the support to enhance their livelihoods by creating accessibility to finance and in availing government benefits/entitlements, Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services are providing through community managed interventions.

Vison :
Social mobilization & institution building of PwDs, Providing livelihood support, Community based Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services, Promoting convergence with line departments, Facilitation in conducting of SADAREM camps.

SADAREM :
Objective of the SADAREM initiative is to create a Dynamic Web enable system for comprehensive access, rehabilitation and empowerment, through automation, capacity building, assessment of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and maintaining Decision Support System (DSS).
